The FiT-Central Texas Regional Championship marked an exciting and challenging milestone for FTC Team TechnoWizards 16458. Competing against some of the top teams in the region, we brought our best engineering, strategy, and teamwork to the field. While the tournament didn’t end with a qualification for the World Championship, it was still a meaningful and impactful experience for our team—both competitively and through our outreach efforts.

A Tournament of Resilience

Regionals tested our team in every way. Despite strong preparation and a robot we were proud of, we faced a series of unlucky matches and unexpected disconnections that impacted our performance during key rounds.

In robotics, not everything goes according to plan—and this tournament reminded us of the importance of adaptability, persistence, and staying composed under pressure. Even when outcomes didn’t go our way, our team continued to support one another, troubleshoot issues, and compete with determination through every match.

1st Place Think Award (Aero Division)

We are incredibly proud to have been awarded the 1st Place Think Award in our division. The Think Award recognizes excellence in the engineering notebook and the design process, highlighting a team’s ability to clearly document, communicate, and reflect on their engineering journey.

This award represents our team’s commitment to a structured and thoughtful design process, clear and detailed documentation of our engineering decisions and iterations, strong collaboration between mechanical, programming, and documentation teams, and continuous learning and improvement throughout the season

Receiving this recognition at the regional level is an honor and a testament to the hard work our entire team has put into our engineering portfolio.

Advancing Inclusion Through M.E. FIRST

Beyond competition, TechnoWizards 16458 continued our commitment to community impact by serving as ambassadors for the M.E. FIRST (Menstrual Equity in FIRST) initiative during the event.

At the Regional Championship, our team, set up menstrual product stations throughout the venue to ensure accessibility, helped raise awareness about menstrual equity within the FIRST community, and contributed to creating a more inclusive and supportive competition environment.

We believe that everyone should feel comfortable and supported at competitions, and we are proud to help make that vision a reality.

Reflecting on the Experience

Although we did not advance to the World Championship this season, the Regional Championship was a powerful learning experience. We faced challenges, celebrated achievements, and continued to grow both as engineers and as a team.

From earning the Think Award to expanding our outreach efforts, this competition reflects what TechnoWizards stands for: innovation, resilience, and impact beyond the field.

Looking Forward

This season has been filled with growth, and we are more motivated than ever to continue improving. We’ll take what we’ve learned—both from our successes and our setbacks—and use it to come back stronger next season.

Thank you to our mentors, supporters, and the entire FIRST community for being part of this journey with us.
